I heard this thing works to get your amp the correct juice. I heard an amp with one and thought it sounded good but added highs and sounded a little sterile. I realize the actual unit makes no sound but gets your amp to react differently. Any one use this or have technical oppinions on its features or think its worth the money?
if your talking about the furman power regulator with the meter on it yes its worth it if you play out cuz some places are dives and you never know what your plugging into at those old joints. the wireing at half those places is realy never up to code. you can blow fuses or tubes out and some places ive been ime thinking-is this plug even grounded?. you can get a nasty shock. Be carefull regardless of the furman or not if you are or plan to play out.
I used a furman power regulator for years and it held up great. if this is the same thing ime talking about It will protect your amp as well from power surges-like lightning hitting the line-or other weird stuff and yes it does happen. Mine is a voltage regulator with a light meter and 2 pull out lights.
Havent used the POwerFactor.... But I had a similar expierielce years ago with the PL-Pro... I can´t say that my new A.R.T. PB 4x4 has that....
This is the floor model with 4 plugs. It gives constant amperage or current and compensates for drops or surges in power. Anyone use this? It has been out around 1 year.
It's a souped-up power conditioner. It'll help with things like noise and surges but it won't make up for line voltage sag.
If you're concerned about voltage fluctuations, you need to go to the AR series.
