Hi guys,

I have an Ibanez that i upgraded the pickup's to and it's been fine for years, but reciently I have a buz on all my pickup switch settings. I have 2 humbuckers and a single in the middle and they all buz. i plugged in a keyboard into the amp and obviously no buz, so I plugged my acoustic guitar in and I get a small buz but nothing like my electric guitar.

Any guesses ?

Loose ground wire somewhere, prob at the jack or vol pot. If not, grab a multimeter and check all the connections under the hood for continuity.

I pulled it apart and all seems good and well soldered. What do you mean by continuity and why would that effect all pickups?

You cant tell if a solder joint is good by just looking at it. A multimeter has 2 probes. Say you have 2 pots connected by a wired soldered to their casings. You'd put a probe on each casing, while the multimeter is on the continuity setting. If it beeps both solder joints are good and the casings are electrically connected, or electrically continuous (sp?).

If you get buzzing in all the positions, its prob the jack ground, bridge ground or jack to pot thats loose.
