has anyone had any experiance with these guitars? how do they stack up to the u.s. models? i have been thinking about getting one of the standard models with the set neck and would just like a few opinions before i pull the trigger on one.
they're about as good as the better Korean Schecters.
i've never had any experiance with shecters except for a couple of their cheap 7 string models. how is the overall quality of the hamer koreans is what i should say. i have seen the us models sellin for more than its gibson counterpart, and i just really dont want to put money into gibson right now, and i really dont have the cash for a us hamer. it would be great if there was a hamer dealer close by so i could check one out first hand, but theres not, hence this post.
Have you looked at used USA Hamers?

yeah, they are goin for about 1,200 on ebay. gibby's are goin for around 700 to 800. the korean models i have been seeing are bringin around 250 and 300. before i spend 1200 on a used usa model i will buy a used gibby, just because i know after the years it will at least hold its value. i really like the mahogany natural koreans looks, but just wanna know what kinda construction quality i should expect.
Construction is good as far as frets and finish quality. The hardware and electronics could be better and none of the MIK's I've played resonated acoustically as well as my USA, but if you play a bunch of them, I bet you can get a killer axe.
Install a Pearly Gates/Custom combo in that bad boy and make some ears bleed.

They seem like a decent value. ONe I nmessed around with was nice for the price. I just cannot get past the Alder body.
Alder in Bolt-on =good
Alder in neck through/glue in= not so good
Tone-wise that is.
