well, after a lot of time waiting for them to come, the pups finally came over the last weeks and i sent them to the luthier to set up the guitars...so here is a few pics i´ve taken...

BC Rich - all mahogany, ebony board, 24 frets, floyd rose, 1 vol, 1 tone, 3 way switch... and a pa distortion trembucker/jazz combo
Gibson Explorer - All mahogany, rosewood board, 22 frets, standard tune-o-matic bridge, 2 volume, 1 tone, 3 way switch... and the same set than the Rich
.................................................. ..................................................
so, here they are... i´ll put a post-review about the pups later (maybe i´ll put it after i´ve tried the set on the bc-rich, cause i´m not very happy with the jazz on there...maybe i´ll have to change it and put there an a2pro hum or other alnico 2 pup instead of an alnico 5)

hope you like the axes... see ya

That Explorer.... do you really need it? If not, I'm, like always, willing to take care of it here. That's one gorgeous axe man... you got me G.A.S.ing for an Explorer...

...i DO man. Thanks dude... if you are going to buy it black, tell the store to put there a black pickguard imo it suits better than the white one

I was thinking exactly the same... actually, I'd need a good amp, but such a guitar would also be veeery nice... omfg I can never decide what to get...

The BC rich is HOT. What are its other specs? Fingerboard radius, neck size...? How does she play?

Nice guitars, man. I really like the BC Rich. Great idea about the pickguard on the Explorer. I agree, it looks much better.

Might sound ignorant, but why do the bridge pickups have the weird pole pieces?

very nice guitars.... what year is that explorer?

Damn. those are NICE axe's man, i really like the black on black explorer.

That is a very pretty B.C. Rich. The finish reminds me of the purple on the Ernie Ball Petrucci Signature.

Cualquier manera, me gustan tus guitarras.

Cuánto hace usted tiene gusto de ese Duncan Distortion? De mis experiencias, lo he encontrado demasiado incómodo.-Watroba

well i don´t really have the specs on my own cause i bought the guitar after seeing and trying it at the shop, and, as a custom guitar, nobody but the BC Rich's Luthier himself know anything about that kind of info... but i can tell you that the neck is in betwen of a Jackson Soloist and the Explorer (well, the explorer neck is thinner than the one of a LP or Strat), no compound radius at all... i dunno how the hell they have done it but the neck is fast as hell and i can play easily on the 24th fret... even faster than one ibanez axe... the good thing about this rounder\Thicker fast necks is that the guitars plays the same both as a rhythm or a Lead guitar...

btw great you liked the axe dudes

Thanks a lot guys... the black pickguard quot;ideaquot; came... cause i don´t really like pickguards at all ...but i love that guitar since day one, and needed to get the gibson model, and it´s the only way to make the pickguard quot;unnoticeablequot; (wait, maybe i've just created a new word...sorry if the word does not exist... :P)...well i hope you can understand me

anyway i think i now like more the guitar with the black pickguard than the same one without it

Ez74, i bought the guitars 2 months ago... both, one 2 weeks before the another

exactly, they both are the Parrallel Axis Distortion Trembucker model... i asked a couple months ago about them and the basics are that these pups are just made for floyd rose guitars, and the parrallel pole pieces is a new patented idea of seymour with this purpose... the special about them is the fatter tone you can get without loosing a bit of character (at least its the difference betwen the pa distortion trembucker and the standard distortion trembucker, this one and the higher output)...

i ordered another one for the explorer cause it has the same string spacing on the bridge than the BC Rich (and the other floyd rose axes)

thanks watroba, the finish was really the reason i bought the guitar over a jackson mahogany soloist (cause they share a lot of specs...maybe the jackson has a thinner neck)

it has some kind of an oil film over the first paint (black) that makes the guitar change its color depending on the light angle and where are you looking from... so its black, purple, blue, green, brown, yellow, red, and the rest in betwen... the pics doesn´t even make it justice... you have to see it

btw, hey, very good spanish dude! if you decide to come here to study and want to buy one of these, the shop has another 2 or 3 Custom BC Rich...

this is one of them and also has this mockinbird
but they haven´t a floyd installed... anyway the one with the emgs plays sweet also, but if you didn´t like one of these you should go for an ESP horizon or a USA Jackson (this last one will have you waitin for a whole year to come...this was another reason to buy the Rich)

and about the pa duncan distortion...i dunno what you mean by uncomfortable... but anyway i find it to be the best bridge pup i have had over a JB, a standard Duncan Distortion model, the dimarzio pups the bc rich came with, the gibson 500t ceramic, the emg 81...

just perfect, over the top output, with no feedback problems at all, tight low end and even tighter high end (but smoother, not that ice picking spec people use to find on the jb model) the character of the mids... just perfect for fast rhythm issues and very good also for that chunky riffs a lot of guys tell about the duncan custom to support better... the overtones are amazing and the sustain is endless... i love it...

Cool guitars. I especially love the reflection in the third pic. A paint job like that would be awesome.

well being a custom shop you can ask for what you like so...i think its easy. paint first the custom art and add then the oil film. anyway a custom shop goes to 3000 and 4000 $/€ so you should better ask for your own finish paying that much for an axe, shouldn´t you?
