I would be interested to hear any opinions on these Amps. I am going to buy a New Amp...... When I find the right one for me. I am considering the Rambler and the Slant V6. Thanks for your input!
the only one ive spent any cosiderable time with is the mercury and the tone was KILLER!!!
They´re naming amps after Curly already????
You only hear good things about those. You might want to search the Gear Page for info on those, as they seem to be very popular over there.
I have a good friend that has 2 Hammerheads. He is a real Pro, and says they are the best Amp he has ever played thru. I gotta have Reverb though. So I am Leaning in the direction of the 2 I had mentioned above. Thanks
They're different strokes for different folks. I didn't get along with the Hammerhead, but I got along with the Top Hats next to it nicely (so go figure).
What is your budget and what tones are you after?
Carr makes some nice stuff. I, however, found the Rambler to be a bit sterile if that is a decent amp term. The speaker probably hadn't broken in yet. Everyone raves about how good a blackface fender type amp it is.
I got to play a Carr Hamerhead at Ultrasound in NYC, but it was next to Brunos and Two Rocks and the like and it paled in comparison to everything else there.
I still believe, for my ears, the Two Rock stuff is the best on the planet. YMMV.

haha ... I wish!
I have so many relatives in the South, though, I could be related to Steve.
maybe I should ask for an endorsement deal.
anyway ...
I have a friend with a Rambler. He gave it a very good review, which used to up on Steve's site. A serious little blues amp. I haven't tried it myself.
I also heard the Mercury at Westwood Music, and it was a killer little amp, as jeremy said.
the one that interested me was the Slant V.
if you look at Carr's site, you can't help but be impressed with the build quality of his amps - definitely made with durability and tone in mind
I experienced the same thing as Scott_F. It sounds kinda sterile to my ears. It didn't really speak to me as well as the Top Hat or Two Rocks in there.
The Top Hat Club Royale, now THAT was a blues amp to my ears... that tone just kills!
Thanks guys..... I'll have to see if I can find a Top Hat!!
