I'm looking at a pickup on eBay and it's got 3quot; of lead wire left. This seems extraordinarily short to me, but perhaps it could still work. I was planning to put this pickup in eithee the neck or middle position on a Nashville Tele.
You can extend the leads with additional wire, solder and a little tape.
Sometimes you get your best deals on short leads ,people think they're useless. Its just 2 more soldering points and shrink tube.
3quot; are often enough... where do you want to use it?
1quot; is enough if you can wolder a wire to a wire, as Robert said, extending them isn´t sorcery
And for the neck or mnid position it would almost certainly have to be extended .....
Oh sorry... I overlooked that part where he said it's for the neck or middle...

I agree! I got a smokin deal on a Full Shred because it only had 1quot; of lead. I had to change the base due to a stripped mounting ear, so I put a whole new lead on then and now it's like new! It's definately not rocket surgery...
This thread was really helpfull to me, so... Bump
3 inches is enough if you stick it in 2-3 times!!!!! I have never had any complaints!!!!!

Sounds like you're admitting something there, Dave.
