from : localhost/says ebony, and then quot;special midnight finishquot;. Is it flat black, or is it the glossy paint. anyone know?
this Midnight version has an ebony finish...
The finish is ebony (black), the guitar is the midnight edition.
quot;Limited-edition Midnight finishquot;
quot;Mahogany body with maple topquot;
some other sites that are selling it have quot;a translucent black flame maple topquot; in the description. do you have any pictures of guitars you think might have similar paint?
might be the pic, but it looks like a quot;satinquot; and not a quot;glossquot; finish to me.
I was in GC today playing some amps and looked for one of these, as I was curious but didn't see any.
yeah i looked for one too, couldnt find it.
the flametop version is the 3 pickup model from : localhost/www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/...se_pid/518096/
thats what i thought, but on 2-3 other websites (music123.com was one of them) it said the one i showed was a flame top. i dont know how 3 websites would have messed up on that
You can hardly call it a flamed maple TOP though, it's actually an alder top with a thin maple veneer glued on top.
I agree it looks like a satin black finish. But Epiphone has a special name for that, they probably wouldn't just have called it 'ebony'. For example, the Epiphone Goths have a color coded as 'pb' (which is probably 'pewter black' or something). The Gibson Goths had a color named 'satin black'. So they don't stick to 'ebony'. I thought it might be a mistake by Musician's Friend, but on Music123.com I found a review of someone saying 'However, this guitar is NOT flat or quot;satinquot; black. It is a gloss shine. Most of the pictures on the internet can be misleading.. You can check it out here.
ah, thanks.
