I have an older vintage japanese strat copy that I'm refurbishing... It's stock pickups are interesting humbuckers that, cool as they are, are dead as a doornail, so they're being replaced.
Here's a URL to a pic:

They have metal covers, but the covers don't cover the FACE of the pickups. I've taken one of these covers and it seems to fit well on just about any humbucker I've put it on thus far. I'm just curious if this type of cover would affect the sound in the same way that I hear a full cover affects pickups (the whole capacitance/slightly less treble thing).
Any thoughts are appreciated!
I think iI can just say: No.
a) They don't lie anywhere near the polepieces
b) Even the effect of a full cover is minimal, and those are just rings
Rock! I'm hoping to use them just to maintain some semblance of the quot;vintagenessquot; the original pickups had.
Thanks for the input!
