This is an unaccompanied guitar clip of the bridge Bare Knuckle VHII in my s00per strat.
Amp is a 50W JCM800 set for mild overdrive. A HomeBrew Electronics Big D is pushing the amp into distortion. Mic is a BLUE The Ball mic. No external EQ was used. A bit of reverb was added with a Lexicon.
First is some simple finger tapping to demonstrate the articulation of the pickup, followed by some fast old school thrash riffs and pinch harmonics. The fade at the end demonstrates how cleanly the pickup handles the decay.
I basically came home from work and did this in one take, so I apologize for the mistakes!

Hej, i can see VH two handing on the begginning of your song.
ahahahah I liked the tone.
the pickup is Tight, But not TOOOOOOOO tight i can hear it... OOPS, CRAP, IT IS TIGHT On teh bass...
but correct me if i´m wrong, what i heard in its middles.. tells me that the middles are not as tight as the bass?
AND WHAT AWESOME DISTORTION
A Lá metallica Kill ´em all.
You have to did another one with the miracle man, if you want, play some riffs of creeping death and it will be MORE THAN Awesome to see the pickup properties.
HAILS AND UNHOLY THANK´S
Thanx, guys!
Smoking sound TWO....
And great playing too.
Thanx, Rid ... The Big D is by far the best overdrive I've ever used; it's perfectly suited for my purposes!
that pedal does have a distinct sound....
Very nice. Sounds very articulate and sweet, and surprisingly tight as well. Simply great! I really have to start thinking about getting one. In addition or complementing your earlier reviews, how would you now, with more experience, compare it to your Miracle Man? Any chance of more clips?
Man that is just rockin!!
Tell me more about that mic, I have been curious about them. Is it tough to find the quot;sweet spotquot; with them? Sounds very natural to me.

I'm hoping to make a clip tomorrow that will be a side-by-side Miracle Man/VHII comparison.
The Miracle Man is a very powerful pickup that distorts very smoothly; the frequency response is very even throughout. It is really great for high gain playing, especially if you're trying to get that late 80s Lynch/DeMartini super strat hotrodded Marshall sound going!!
The VHII is much more raw sounding. It requires more gain to get going, as well as a harder attack. The VHII is a bit more dynamic than the Miracle Man, but less expressive. It also has more harmonic content than the Miracle Man.

Thanx kev3k!
I simply love using that mic for guitar tracks. $200 very well spent, imo.
I usually monitor the sound through headphones and adjust the mic as I go. I find myself mic'ing it about where I would use a '57; ie, just left of center, and about 2quot; from the grille cloth. If you back it up a bit more, you get LOTS of air and a more old school type sound.
When the bucks are handy I am gonna snatch one up. I really like how it captures the sound.
tone-wise, I think that's the best clip you've posted yet..sounds good =)

Well, the only thing I changed were the pickups.
goes to show just how important they are =) the other guitar player in my band is starting to become a seymour duncan convert from being a long time dimarzio guy =)
the proof's in the pudding, as they say..or tone, as the case may be
