Someone told me these are designed for 250k pots?? Is this true, I heard you should put 375k or 500k pots for humbuckers, and since this is a single-coil sized humbucker, I figured it would be the same.
Any help on the pots issue would be appreciated.
The assumed is that you will be using the same 250K pot, so my guess is yes they were designed for use with the 250K's

I left the 250k pot in when I put the JB Jr in my old Epi. It seemed to be alright.
Thanks.
I use 250K with JB JR's. Since it's a direct replacement for Strats and all Strats use 250K pots I'm sure the EQ of the JB JR. is designed for use with 250K pots. 500K would make the JB JR. a little brighter and that might not be a bad thing. However, 500K would also make the neck and middle pickups brighter and glassier and that may or may not be desirable. When I used the JB JR. in my Strat I found the normal bridge model to be a little quot;darkerquot; than I prefered so I switched it to a neck model used as a bridge pickup. I prefered that brighter tone. Lew
While quot;designedquot; for 250, IMO it still sounds better w/ 500k
