I transfered the money to Ishibashi!

Tokai Love Rock LS-80 Matte VF is soon on it's way!

I'm totally excited

Had to share my hapiness with you other guitar players and gear crazy people!

Congrats!
Be sure to post lots of pics when you get it in.
Also pull the neck pickup and take shots of the cavity as well, please.
I'd like to see how long the tenon is and the maple cap thickness.

Awesome, please post pics when you get it!!

Yep, I'll post pics as soon as I get it, and lots of them!

If I don't remember to pull the pickup, and shoot that as well, then you'll have to tell me again

Gonna post clips of it also as soon as I get to record it!!

Can you tell how the neck is and if the weight is basically the same as a les paul? Oh and the finish, it's looks great on the website. I just wanted to know this cause I'm getting a love rock too, but the goldtop with p90s.

good to know there are Tokai fans here.

the feel of the LS75/ 80 are fantastic! the weight isn't too far off the real deal but the tone IMO are more refined- more clarity to say the least.

Got a email from Ishibashi today!

My guitar have been shipped now ...I got the trackingnumber, but can track it first tomorrow.

I paid from my banks internet service...

It allows you to pay in nearly whatever (not squirrels though ) no, but seriously...

I just selected Yen and the checked the rates between euros and yen, so that it was okay. Then when I finally made the transfer it automatically added 6€ but that was for the transfer I think. So I didn't pay any extra, just a transfer fee for transfering money to the Japanese bank.

Hmm I wondering about ordering with or without a hard case. It's hard to choose cause the difference is just $140, I could get a case to match the guitar, and last plus is it protects the guitar better while shipping it. Did you get a hard case with yours?

I also had some thoughts about wheter I'd get the hardcase or not. I ended up not getting one...would have been nice to have a original hardcase for it, but since I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to pay import tax I figured that I don't really have the money for both import and hardcase (would have to pay import on the whole package incl. that hardcase and the shipping) so it would have gone over my max limit.

Hope you noticed that you however get a softcase with the guitar when buying from Ishibashi... and on the LS-80 that I bought he said that it was a quot;original softcasequot; not that it do any big difference for me but anyways

Which one model are you planning on buying? and also... If you order, are you going to order from Ishibashi?

Is it a Japan or Korean made Tokai ?

How much did you paid for it ?

He got a MIJ Tokai here from : localhost/yeah I plan to order from ishibashi too, I'm planning to get the LS80S, it's the Goldtop lp w/p90s.

Like greendy said, Japanese tokai...go to the link.

I ordered a LS-80 Flametop, Matte Violin Finish, Zebra PAF-Vintage MK2 pups. The total for me was ~600€. That also includes a softcase, covers shipping and insurance of shipping and bankwire costs.

If I'm lucky I might land on that as the final price....If not, I have to pay import taxes roughly 150€ more and end on a pricetag of 750€. If I'd buy the guitar in Finland I had paid, incl. shipping, roughly 1000€. That means that even if I end up on 750€ I still got the V-stack that I just bought on the hand and a 100€ extra to save to something nice

Okay greendy! I've never been a fan of the P-90's in a Les Paul type guitar, when talking about looks...I think the 90's make em look quot;skinnierquot; :P but soundwise...are they amazing

Do you plan on keeping the stock one's or chaning them for some other P-90's in the near future? I read that the stock Tokai humbuckers are quite okay but don't compare against Mr Duncans....Me myself have some plans on getting a Antiquity bucker for the neck and a Alnico II Pro for the bridge...but not in the meantime though, have to save a little cash after this I guess

Yeah p90s do sound good in Les Pauls. I tried a goldtop ephiphone lp with p90s and sounded great. Basically the defined tone of single coils and power of humbuckers making thick crunchy tones. I'm staying stock cause Ill be broke after buying them. Anyways the quality is better than the epiphone so I'll keep them at least a few years, maybe even one. I like trying guitars for awhile, my strat I got took me 5 years to decide if I wanted to switch humbuckers. This is most because I learned how to actually play it last year.

Give Edwards or Navigator a try, and you'll see what Japanese craftsmen can really do!

I was thinking about getting an edwards, but I don't like the logo on headstock and I really don't want to paint on headstock to get rid of it. Anyways all those companies make great copies.

I was also looking at the Edwards, Grecos and Orvilles....

Actually used Grecos and Orvilles were also high on the list for me, but since I ended up buying a new I went with Tokai....

Gotta agree about the headstock on Edwards...I don't like em either, and not the headstocks on Epiphones either... but that's just me

Headstock has the same cutout on all those models... are you talking 'bout the logo ?
