I'm looking for advise from someone more experienced than myself (probably doesn't require much!) Recently purchased a Mexican made Tele with the intention of upgrading it with a new body, bridge and pickups. Looking for some vintage tele tone with plenty of rock guts to boot (ala Mr. Richards) Plan on purchasing a light Ash one piece body and a vintage bridge with brass saddles.
Am considering a FIve-Two for the lead and a Seth Lover at the neck. Would this be a good choice? Are there better alternatives? What problems may I run into? You know, is this a good combo? Any thoughts, advice and or comments would be appreciated.

What kinds of tones are you into (besides Keith)? What kinds of quot;problmesquot; are you talking about...how much of this kind of work have you done before? And last...welcome to the forum!
I would like try my hand a finishing a guitar body. As far as tones - I have very diverse musical taste and would like something that would give me wide range of sounds, though I do lean towards the more raw and gutsy. As far as problems? I don't know, I guess campatibility as well a the fact I've never done this before.
I have a 54 set and they are great pups for vintage rock. The neck it's sometimes dark, but that's way it should be. The bridge has this trebly, twangy tone that made telecaster famous. On overdrive it's completely edgy and agressive, but you have to push hard the preamp to get there. Who cares? It's a great tone...
If the neck pup is Vintage 54 (STR-1) which bridge would give more modern tone (semi-vintage) =?
Vintage 54 lead ?
Brodcaster ?
Hot lead?
