How is this guitar vs the similar priced jackson models??? $600~750?

Any of you have this model? or a similar one?

Do Ibanez necks really warp that easily?

and how is the Edge Pro trem?

Oh and how are RG 770DX guitars? The late 80's/early 90's japanese made? guitars...

How are old ibanez guitars? Should I spend around 350-400 dollars and grab one?

Well I have an RG7620 and a JS1000BP (Joe Satriani model). The satch has a Pro Edge bridge and the RG has an originial floyd rose. My Satch stays in tune just as well as the OFR. I have played the RG1570 and I liked it a lot. Go around town and look for used Ibanez guitars. You could find them every where if you looked. I'd try and get a used Prestige model from the RG series. Such as the 1570, 2120, 2020 and 7620. If you get your hands on a prestige model you'll be all set. You can find high end discontinued older Ibanez model guitars for dirt cheap used, just look around for them.

The Edge Trems from Ibanez are the best copies out there (except the Edge Pro II and the Edge 3)

I have 2 RG750's and they'll stand up with the best of them out there.

The 1570 is just the latest in a long line of ass-kicking guitars from Ibanez, and IMO, equal to or better than a comparably priced Jackson. The 1570 is made in Japan by Team J-Craft, who also make the signature models (Jem, JS etc.) Top notch stuff...

Presige J Craft necks are beautiful to play. I just bought an RGA 121 and it's a work of art..flawless craftsmanship and wonderful playability right out of the box.

Well if you like sustain, you better look elsewhere. I had a 570 and it was a rip for the price even though it had the original Edge trem on it. Played so good though, i loved what it could do. Tone wasnt that great either. I doubt they fixed either when they made the jump to the 1570. I say you are wasting your money cause ibanez keeps knocking the prices up and down. I bought my 570 new for over $500. A month later they went down to $350. When the 1570 came out it was priced at $750, guess what, they 570 went back up to over $500. Ibanez sucks if you ask me. They have those models where you need to just stay away unless you get a good deal.

The new pro Edge bridge is junk. The block is 30% too short and this has reduced the efficiency of the springs which are now under too much strain and tend to stretch. The trem arm is insecure on the standard models (the quot;celebrityquot; models have all been sneakily modified so they work properly) and they are so light that they don't offer enough mass to isolate the strings from the shock absorbent effect of the springs.

I think the late 80's/early 90's RG's are pretty good... RG550, RG570, RG770... just to name a few... what are your opinions on those? would you spend 400-500 dollars on one?

I would spend $350 for an RG550, maybe $300 for an RG570, about $400 for an RG770 (not DX, prepare to pay about $550-600 for an RG770DX).

yes when i sold my 570, it sold for $240.... to someone in the UK cause of the obvious price jumps over there.

i think they are top notch... a friend of mine has a RG550EX which plays great it has a wizard neck which is thinner than the prestige neck... and the sustain isn´t as bad as some people would say an it has a lo pro edge equipped...
i would after a 550 or a 570 but a 90´s model

the Prestige models by Ibanez are very good guitars, it's just that people who don't like them have negative things to say, but that's quite a fair thing to do, isn't it? i own 3 Prestige models currently amp; they are superb players to say the least.

no, Ibanez necks don't warp easily, those that do, have the owners to account for it. one of my RG is 14yrs old come November amp; i've never tweaked its truss rod, it has been straight since day 1...
