OK, I bought two humbuckers for my guitar, I installed a Seth Lover at the bridge and a Jazz at the neck, I have seperate volume and tone pots on each with a 3 way switch.
I used this wiring diagram
from : localhost//support...tics/humb.html
I connected the jazz wiring as follows, connected the red and white together connected the green and shield together and grounded it connected the black wire to the volume pot.
I'm using 500K pots from Stew Mac, and .02MF caps.
I have no volume or tone on the neck
I do have volume but no tone on the bridge
When I select the center position of the switch it gets really loud.
but still no volume or tone control on the neck.
A friend suggested buying new pots as I may have burned them up when soldering.
1.Am I using the correct wiring diagram?
2. Is it possible the pots are shot?
3. How can I tell if they are?
4.How do I prevent this happening again?
