Well, the black (alder) strat body is on it's way and this thing is going to need some new pickups. Let's say that this guitar was going to be taken along on a business trip for a few months and this one guitar should cover all the bases. I mean from classic rock to country to metal to blues to the Floyd. HH? HSH? SSS with some s/c sized buckers? Push/pulls are definately an option.

Or should I just take my JP wired LP?

Personally, I find HSS strats to be possibly the most versatile guitar on the planet. JMHO.

Oh yeah, for the record I love strat bridge and neck tones, but the quot;notchquot; tones are not really my thing.

I'm in a delema with my Strat as well and asked for help in another thread. It's SSS now with a SSL-6 in the bridge and stock mid and neck. I have a Little '59 that I've been trying to sell with no takers so I may slap it back in the bridge position and get SSL-1's for the neck and mid.

For what you are looking for, look at the quot;Everything Axequot; setup. That'll be perfect for covering all those bases, and put push/pull pots in to split the JB and '59.
