Some of you guys heard this one at the houston Amp Fest.
Tweed Deluxe 5E3 Mission Amps
un-laquered Tweed solid pine cab
EH 6V6 (2)
NOS 5Y3 (1) recitifer
NOS 12AY7 (1) V1
JJ ECC83S (1) V2
Your choice of a Texas Heat (classic american flavor) or a Red Fang (classic brittish flavor) 12 inch speakers. Sounds great eitehr way, but had the Red Fang in it when I came to the Houston Amp Fest.
$700 shipped. This is pretty much the cost of the parts. My labor is free on this one.
Breaks up early and often. If you're looking for lots of clean headroom, look elsewhere. If you love that Neil Young melt down thing, this is your amp (Yes, I know Neil modded his to run 6L6, but this is darn close with the stock 6V6 power tubes).
It's a classic with a new look to it. I purposely left it natural tweed and didn't age and laquer it.
The folks that were at the Houston Amp Fest can attest that it is quiet as a mouse fart.
4 inputs, 2 per channel, one channel is normal, the other is bright. Very simple amp, one single tone control. Beautiful tone.
It's a shame I'm not working at the momment ... I'm dying to get my hands on one of Bruce's 5E3 kits (It's my favorite setting on the Line 6 ... for the pure meltdown overdrive).
Unfortunatly I won't be working until mid-late July ... It's a shame
no love for the vintage tweeds? shucks! have to head off to ebay.
One more bump before Ebay.
I wish I had 700 bucks... that sounds like exactly what I need. I wish I could get breakup from my Classic 30, but I can't becuase of the SS recto, and it's way too loud anyway. I want a simple low wattage tube amp.
Maybe we can work out a deal? 25 bucks month for the next 2 n a half years?
