Hey guys. I installed two Dimarzio (gasp) humbuckers in my Ibanez RG-520. After some time, i saw that the pickups would NOT stay level. They would always tilt foward, with the slug side being closer to the strings than the screw side. What could be the problem? Possibly the wires underneath? Thanks in advance.
you can always jam a little piece of the foam that comes with the pickups in the hole to level it out ... i had to jam a guitar pick in front of one of mine to get it to stay level ... whatever works as long as it doesnt damage the pup or short the signal ... i am sure some experts will be along to help with other better answers
good luck

thanks, i was thinking about that.
btw, its mounted in a pickup ring.
You can take the mounting ring and turn it 180 degrees so it tilts the other way and makes up for the pickup tilt. Or you can sand the bottom until it's nearly level, or whatever it takes.
If your pickups are set low, the pole adjustment screws may be hitting the pickup cavity forcing that side to stay up and the slug pole side to tilt down. I cut about .100quot; off in length of those screws on a couple of '59 neck pickups as I like to set them lower to control the boominess in my Jackson SL4 and my Flying V. They stay level now and sound a lot better. Cutting down the screws will also change the magnetic field under the pickup slightly which will thicken the tone somewhat.
