I have a washburn guitar that i want to upgrade the pickups in. It is a lower end model and plays very nicely, but just doesn't have the sound to match. It has a Hum-sing-sing setup. It has a vintage style tremole, with a poplar body, and a neck with a rosewood fretboard. I am looking for a classic rock style sound.(Led Zepplin, CCR, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Clapton, Hendrix, anyway you get the idea) I know i cannot match all of these sounds but i want something that will sound similar. I am pretty set on a Pearly Gates in the bridge, but i have no idea when it comes to the single coils. So what do you all reccomend?
Dwight
Welcome aboard, Dwight. I think a set of A2 Pros might go well or if you want a noiseless setup a couple of Vintage Rails or some stacked pups.
Welcome Dwight!
I'm with D!ck (JacksonMIA) and think the A2P's would be good. They give you a vintage sound that wont be too overpowered by the PG. Don't forget you'll have to get the Trem-spaced PG.
