I know I am crazy but I want to make sure that when I rewire my guitar the tone is not changed that much, so here is the question:
I currently have a 500k tone pot with at .022 Microfarad capactior on it (tolerance of /-5%).
If I put a .02 Microfarad capactior with a tolerance of (tolerance of /-2%),
there could as much as a 15% difference with old capacitor:
.022 x 1.05 = .0231 (maximum case scenario)
.02 x 0.98 = .0196 (minimum case scenario)
.0196 divided by .0231 = 0.848, or only 85% the same....
Would I ever hear the difference?
Or would you need super-human hearing to hear the difference?
If anything it would be so slight that it is practically negligible, right?
Thanks guys, this forum is great!
Bubba
I can guarantee you'd never hear a difference. The difference is so small that it's nothing to worry about.
Ryan
Thanks!!!
