I have an older Boss DD2, i love it except for the fact that when i turnit off all the repeats stop. Is there anyway to mod it so when i disengage the pedal the repeats will not stop abruptly but continue to repeat until they fade out sensibly? Thanks.
It'd be cheaper to buy a DD-6.....
I wouldn't mod that thing. You're saying you want the delay feedback to continue after bypassing the unit (taking the circuit out of the signal loop), bascially the effect is still working the signal after the effect is bypassed. Quite honestly, I don't think it's possible to do that. When it's on, it's on, when it's off, it's off. Some of the newer delay units may do that due to their more advanced design and chip improvements since the DD-2 was made but I don't know of any that do.
delay pedals arent good candidates to mod. youd be better off getting a new one. the line6 dl4 does what you want.
has mods for the DD2 check um out how knows. I am using the Delay I got in my spider2 and with my Guitarport.
Actually, thats not that hard to do . . . if you're me or John. It would be fairly difficult for a someone who hasn't spent a lot of time around electronics.
Basically, you'ld replace the bypass switch with a small relay. It would have a fair sized cap across the coil wires - say 4500uf. When you switched it off, it would take several seconds for the cap to discharge and for the relay to disengage.
Better yet: the relay would be powered by an op-amp. The input of the op-amp would be taken from the output signal. As soon as the delay degraded to inaudible, the op-amp would switch the relay off. Perfect sync.

Ahhh, I see. Very interesting. I wonder if this could be done with the Millenium Bypass circuit since it utilizes an opamp.

Possibly . . . probably. I'd just have to see the circuit.
