I need to adjust the truss rod on my guitar but the PRS website shows you that it should be .010 inches at the 8th fret when depressing the 1st and 24th fret. Only problem is that my guitar has 22 frets (which most PRS's are) so it seems kinda dumb they don't post it. That and what string are they talking about? your low or high E? If anyone could tell me what I need to do exactly it would be much appreciated.
Go with what works for you. Start by following thier guideline using the .010 gap when holding the string down at the first and highest fret. I guess you'd use a capo at the first fret to accomplish that...unless you have three hands! In any case, I adjust my truss rod a little differant for each guitar. So use thier starting point and then tweak to taste.
What Lou said. I tend to use the high (pitch) E string only because I prefer to work the feeler gauge with my right hand. Don't sweat the 22 vs. 24 fret thing.
I agree with Lew and Aleclee but, I do it a bit different. I use a notched straight edge and a feeler guage rather than using the method with the strings. I also dont always follow the specs by the book on these things, I do it to taste also!

Yeah, once it's close, I just play the guitar for awhile with every tweak of the truss rod. Once the strings react under your fingers the way you like it, you're finished. Then do a final intonation fine tuning, and the guitar plays like a Stadivarius.
