So a couple weeks ago I stopped into the local Guitar Center to pick up a Bad Monkey and see what was under the glass case; occasionally some good used deals will crop up. Sure enough, an almost mint looking Ibanez Tube Screamer Reissue was labeled for sixty bucks. Not exactly the steal of the century, but a decent price.
After about a month of swapping around other overdrive pedals I can say that I really like this pedal, even stock. I was totally ready to dislike it and NEED to have it modded. But weird enough I'm finding that it's a great sounding pedal by itself.
Weird.....
That's not weird. I like the stock TS-9 reissue myself
There's a reason, that the most popular pedals made today, are mostly modified copies of a Tubescreamer.
Still, you gotta wonder what John Spina's version will sound like in comparison.
Hopefully, someone with a Spina modded version will pipe in.
That's beyond cool when that happens. It's great when you expect poco and get mucho. I'm glad to hear that you scored, Skarey.

I have no doubt Johns touch will add a little something to it. He actually modded my TS9DX and really made it one of my fave pedals.
I'll probably keep an eye out for one to send to him. But for now I'm hapopy enough with this one to keep it stock.
