In a side by side comparison, my MIM Standard Tele pretty much blows away my 50's Esquire with the SD Broadcaster p/up The Esquire isn't near as vibrant and quot;alivequot; as the Standard is, and the tone is more quot;in your facequot; and more open Who says these aren't nice guitars lolFenderBender
I think it might be the 3-saddle bridge thats not letting the guitar resonate the way it should, who knows. I just know that the MIM Standard gets way better response and is more quot;up frontquot; FenderBender
That's why it's always best to play 'em before you buy 'em. A higher price doesn't always equate to a better sounding guitar.
Different pieces of wood, and who knows if the assembly line workers were having a productive day, or if they hit some mota at lunchtime? LOL
