Hello All...
I just picked myself up a little B-day present; A PRS Santana/SE Dual HB.
I am (of course) going to put SD's in it but, alas, I am suffering some option anxiety. I would love some input so here is the run down.
Mahogany Body
Rosewood Fretboard
25' Scale
I'm kinda goin for a knockoff Gibson tone ala: Warren Haynes, Crossroads Clapton, Paul Kossof, ****ey Bettes, Duan Allman, Greg Martin thing.
I have a JB in another axe and its a little hot for me. I am definately going for P.A.F. tone. PG's maybe?
Really any of the lower output hummers will work..
Haynes uses PG's and Ants.
clapton used PAFs
not sure about the others...
BTW, welcome to the forum.
Thanks, Nite.
Will a set of PG's be fairly versatile.
( I haven't been HB shopping in almost 8 years!)
Welcome to the forum! The PG set is great and will take to higain without a problem whereas the Antiquities will get a bit microphobic at the higher gain levels. That said, the incredible and more complex tones that you will get with an Ant will more than make up for the microphobics. I LOVE mine.
Thanks jump,
I see that you use Eminence speakers.
i am really considering a Texas Heat for my DRRI
Is it a good quot;all applications sound betterquot; speaker?
If not what would you recommend?
ALso...How about a Antiquity N PG(b)?
