When i record with my mic i usually have the amp as loud as normal talking volume and the mic input pretty high. The tone i get seems somewhat thin and distanced but the high end sounds very good.
Now when i crank the amp to around the loudness of a house party i can get some pretty nice tones, but the highs are a bit sharp and harsh.
what volumes do you guys use to get a good authentic sounding recording?
man, it really depends on each tune. Keep ur possibilities open like a bag o' potato chips.
