hey guys,, I just bought a 59n,, and when I got home I realize that the black duct tape that on the side of the pickup was only in one side of the pickup(left side),, so there is no duct tape covering the other side(right side) of the 59n,,
Is this normal??

Sounds like a used 59N that at one time had a nickel cover on it. That's probably normal if that is the case and if someone removed the cover.

I just got a 59n myself and i also have tape on only one side, left. I guess its normal, since mine was never opened and it was like that when i got it. Hope this helps.

That's normal, all of the '59n I've owned are like that. It's perfectly normal.

yeah,, after searching in the internet I found that this pickup only have one tape on only one side..

btw - for whatever reason, both my 59's have the tape going all the way around. Both are 4-conductor. That may make a difference.

well maybe because both your 59s are 4 conductor?? and mine is only one conductor??
well I think it doesn't matter anymore,, since not only my 59n have the tape one one side,,
So I think I'm gonna put it in my showmaster and let it scream with the SD custom.. can't wait to hear the sound..
