Ibanez RG right ? it isn't heavy. Perhaps 1/2 the weight of a LP

generally between 2 and 5 pounds, depending on how dry the wood is and how light that particular piece happened to be.

BTW, I´m talking ONLY the body, no finish or hardware

I had an RG not to long ago and I had it all apart.

The body was very light- like 4 pounds or something

between 5 and 11 pounds w/ hardware finish, depending on the same factors and taking into account that they now apply to the Neck as well .

I don't know the actual weight but a Jem is NOT a boat anchor to play a gig with... pretty moderate in weight compared to Les Pauls, etc...

True, Most arent, you´ll be more likely to end up around 7-9 lbs... But I HAVE seen and even played ones that were heavier than a typical LP, especially in the 555 series

k... was wondering cos Evo weights a ton .. but evo's alder too.. and that huge ass trem has to weigh like 2 pounds by itself

and which trem are you talking about? an OFR? tim.. the trem on evo and flo is not an ofr. it's the original edge (if any) or one that steve got built to his specs cos i saw pics of the original edge and it's a bit diferent

27 ounces is about 765g , I´m pretty sure that´s the weight of an Original Edge w/ springs, claw, and nut... if Vais are quot;redesignedquot; then that´s a different story

And generally speaking Alder is about 30-40% heavier than Basswood.

well nuttin wrong with that...I just thot maybe he had a fever or suttin ...usually Ibanez is a bad word around him...almost as bad as ES...err...I'm not sayin it

BTW..

Davey...here's a tip...the S series (like the 540 or whatever)....unsung hero's of the Ibanez line. They are a bit heavy but don't sound as thin as the basswood and alder bodies, in my experience. They've got some low end chunk.

The ZR trem is quite good IME....best quot;cheapquot; Floyd I've messed with though I'm no Floyd expert by any means.

oh, me inquireing about ibanez.. meh. i still cling firmly that outside a custom ibanez (or maybe 'mojo' ... hell yea.. definately mojo) the only ibanez i'd ever own is a early 80's set neck DestroyerII

nah.. the whole thing is just cos of Evo. it's so diferent than any other jem7vwh i've ever encountered. from the neck down to the weight.

yea zerb, his trems are modified (the ones on evo and flo - diferent saddles. most likely the trem block too) mojo i think has an original edge unmoded.

not looking to buy one. just comparing to draw out how extencively evo is moded. i think steve will be taking those secrets into his grave.. his tech wont talk about it either. it's all steves business =/
