Ok I normally use the D'Addario EXL 110s (the nickelwound 10-46 set)... but I want to try out something new somehow... how are the nickelwound Slinkys compared to them?
thanks
a little brighter, and to me, a little less tension
hmmm thanks... interesting
If you can, try a set of GHS Boomers, my favourite guitar string
I can bend the hell out of my slinkys. I likem alotsa bunches.

Exactly what i thought!
I tend to like the Slinkies on strats, and either the D'Addarios or a pure nickel string on LPs and other humbucking guitars .. just my personal taste, though.
i use slinky's but ive never tried the exl's. I use to use erne ball acoustic string but switched over to daddarrio. For electric i just stick to ernie ball though. The slinkys are very reliable strings i have found.
slinky's die alot faster!!!
i absolutely love the sound of ghs boomers, but they have a tendency to rust overnight even if i clean them. i swaped to ernie ball hybrid slinky 9-46 on my strat and the earnie ball 10-46 on my paul. they seem to last forever and never rust on me. they sound pretty decent too, imo

I also find that even when in need of a change, the d'addarios still sound better.
thanks for all your opinions guys
i personally dont like daddario because i find when they need to be changed they self destruct instead of go dead (its more definitive tell tale sign but more inconvenient during a set) i like slinkys ghs and im trying out dean markley blue steels those 3 in my opinion rock
