I was wondering if anyone knows which model Duncan pickups that Joe Sariani used (and may still use) in one of his chrome Ibanez guitars played in the San Fransico live DVD video? In the concert he uses 2 chrome guitars. One has Dimarzio pickups and has a more modern sound. The other one uses Duncan pickups and has a little more of a PAF Gibson like tone. Perhaps Pearly Gates? Or maybe 59's? Or??? Thanks in advance!

I've heard they are PG's...

No doubt he tried a bunch. In that guitar it was a pair of pearly gates. It was stolen shortly thereafter.

I spoke to some of the guys in the know at the Clearwater Florida Sam Ash about the quot;so calledquot; thefting of Satch's quot;Chrome Boyquot;.....I was told it was all a hoax....The guitar supposedly got stolen at Ruth Eckerd Hall right down the road from Sam Ash...Hopefully it didn't really get stolen,but I was told it didn't? Anyone else have any real fact on this or not?

Satch used PGs pickups and probably alot of other pickups...Doesn't matter what he uses,the guy just rocks...

I'm with you on that one...I've never met Satch(Would love to)but sources tell me he's a very down to earth guy....His niese worked at a local Radio Shack store here in Florida....She knew too much about his career and the guitars and pedals he used and uses...

I was in Radio Shack buying some resistors and stuff for my pedal mods...She asked me what the electronic stuff was for...I told her that I Modded pedals for guitar players..She goes...quot;Oh cool,do you know Joe Satrianiquot;? I'm like,what are you kidding! He's one of my favorite guitar players....Small world we live in...I haven't seen her in quite awhile and maybe they moved back to Long Island NY?

I've met Satch a few times during the G3 tour where he was with Eric and Steve. Nicest guy you'll ever meet. I was shaking in disbelief that i'm actually standing there and talking to the quot;Alienquot; himself. He was short and very skinny guy.

Hello brother...Hey thanks for the corrections about Joe's stolen guitar...Sorry to hear that it was in fact stolen(THAT SUCKS!)....I got the feeling he was a great guy...I Love his music and I have just about every cd and dvds and vhs tapes from him available...I Listen to his music more than anything else most of the time...The guy has alot of styles and he can play just about anything and everything...

I met satch too briefly while he was on tour. I got to hang with them for a while while working on the set/stage. Real down to earth, even bordering on being shy. Very respectable and all around nice guy. He's not the typical egotistical rock star type.

Same here John, Joe truly is a gifted Master. I have just about every album he ever released. The feeling and the emotion on his music can be heard on every single note he plays. Amazing!
