I've been playing with my buddy's Jaguar Baritone ( he doesn't like it) that I would trade for if I had a plan for different pups that I thought would give it some more of the something it seems to lack. I know that's a really crappy description, but it clearly is missing something , but because it's a baritone it's difficult to decide just what that is. The stock pups are described by Fender as quot;Special Design MIJ Single-Coil Jaguar Pickups (Neck amp; Bridge)quot; The controls are as follows (“Lead” Circuit: 2-Position Tone Switch, Volume, Tone, “Rhythm” Circuit: volume, Tone, Circuit Selector Switch ). Alder body Rosewood on Maple neck.
It's got some twang, which I like, maybe what it's lacking is testicles.
As I have admitted frequently and openly in this forum, I am a keyboard guy, and a hack (but improving) picker.
I play a strange combination of dance music that has elements of Ska, Western Swing, Hillbilly, and Truck Driving Tunes.
I am prepared to consider all options, stacked buckers, Tele Pups, Antiquities.
If you have a thought, bring it.
Fsck the Jaguar, I want links to your music NOW.
GOGOGOGOGOGO
Maybe you could send them to SD for a rewind.
id say a vintage neck with either a qp or hot in the bridge. too hot a neck pup might get muddy but i think youll like a little extra grunt in the bridge.
