Ok, well, I'm refinishing my kramer pacer in a vintage cream. Its lookin great so far, but, for the second time while i've been doing this project, my dad has accidently put a ding in the guitar .

First time was in the wood prep phase where he dropped a chair on it. This time he's decided to take it down from where it was hanging and stack boxes on top of it. Am I frusturated? Oh hell yes I am. Needless to say I told him never to touch my refinishing projects EVER again .

So, the Ding is about the size of a nailhead, and not real deep, but enough to get through to the wood.

So...what do i do? should i just say quot;**** itquot; and sand it down, fill it, and repaint? OR is there a simpler solution?

If you're using spray boms than spray the colour into a cap and do a drop,do the same with the clear as well.Don't do any overall finishing until that area is level.

smack your dad in the head with it and say thanks for the new dent hahahahaha j/k.

oh and check your for sale post i had a question for you there...

I'm not sure I exactly follow what you're saying...I'm using reranch spray cans right now. Could you elaborate a bit?

he means fill the small ding with a small drip of paint and let it harden then sand it smooth and go about the rest of your finishing.

Thanks bro, will do!

Bingo-sorry 'Spray Bomb' is slang for the spray cans.
Quick tip-turn the can upside down for a bit,(the clear is heavier than the propellant and sinks),then dip the bottom half of the can into hot water,(not boiling just from the tap),this will blend the propellant, thinner and clear and the heat will accelarate the propellant giving you an even spray that is in between a can and a gun.
But for safety remember DIP the can,and I mean for like 5 seconds,it doesn't take much. You DO NOT want the propellant to overheat.Just remember to wrap the can in a cloth for a second so you don't drip water,(trust me on this one )
