heavy gauge strings
i just switched strings to some really heavy gauge ones. these are great for when im tunning down a full step and putting my low E down to a C, however, when i have it in standard, there seems to be so much tension on these that theyre pulling super hard on my bridge, pulling it right up as far as it can go. is this a really bad thing? should i be fixing this? if yes, how? is there any other setup stuff i should be changing on my guitar when switching from light gauge to heavy gauge strings. (the guitar was setup by a guitar tech for light gauge strings originally). thanks for any help

Bolt-on Peavey V-Types?
There are two bolt, non-trem, V-Types hanging in the local guitar shop now, for $300(good price?). MusiciansFriend was selling some refurbished V-Types, are these the ones? And were the problems fixed? I liked the guitar and didnt see anything wrong with it, but u never know.

Dont know which distortion pedal to get
Alright, ive been in search for a pedal to kick my laney into HIGH gain territory. Ive already tried the tonebone hot british and its not worth it and it doesnt have enough gain. My laney has right about the same amount of gain as the tonebone pedals. Ive been looking at the boss SD-1 and the digitech tone driver, but i seriously dont know what to get. Im looking for a pedal thats fairly cheap, and both the sd1 and tone driver are. I find that my laney is voiced towards a rock tone than metal, although it can do it. I dont want the pedal to make me sacrifice any versatility, cause i think my laney can cover just about any tone imaginable by itself. I just want it to sound more aggressive and crunchier (more crunch than anything) in that department. Any suggestions? (no, i do not like the metal zone!!)

Tele vs. Strat bridge pickup differences?
Does anyone know what the physical differences between a standard tele bridge pickup and a standard strat bridge pickup? From playing both guitars at different times I have the impression that the tele bridge pickup is hotter and somehow just has more balls than the strat bridge pickup. I have never looked at them side by side, but I also have the impression that the tele pickup is slightly larger and might require different routing and a larger pickguard cutout. I'd love to hear from anyone who has put a tele quot;leadquot; pickup in a strat, as I am thinking of doing.

Anyone played a Two-tone amp?
Heard a bit about it - apparently John Mayer swears by it. Pricey from what I've seen, but what does it sound like?
