I'm trying to decide wether or not to get a Gibson Studio (I'm lefty, in case that has some sort of quality implication...) or an Epiphone Custom. The studio is about twice the price. I'm willing to pay for the studio, but if they're about the same, I might as well save the money. However, if the Studio really is a lot better in terms of quality, I'll go with the studio. But, I've read great reviews on the Custom. Also, the Epiphone Custom has a mahogony/alder body as opposed to the all-mahogany Studio. Does that create an appreciable difference? The pickups aren't a factor for me in the Epiphone since I plan on changing them no matter which one I get.

EBay score
My son just got it in today, a rockerverb 50, man is that thing sweet. Only been playing through it for about 30 min, but wow there is a lot there and so far it all seems good!

7 string pickup
I was wondering exactly how much it would be to get an Alnico 2 Pro Humbucker made for a 7 string guitar? I was considering the 59 but I think it would be a little strong for what I am looking for, and the Dimarzio Air Norton but I think it's a little too focussed and middy for what I want. I'm planning on pairing it with a Custom in the bridge with taps on both pu's for more versatility.

visited Saul at ccity music today
Couldn't wait any longer and had GAS to feed, so I cashed in my back ordered Navarro credit and got these two with cases and a few bones back in my pocket that I'm going to put towards upgrades (pickups, pots, etc.).

Carvin Twin Blade vs Hot/Cool Rails?
Can anyone compare Carvin's Twin Blade humbucker to Duncan's Hot Rails or Cool Rails in terms of tonal qualities? I've had both Hot and Cool Rails and the Carvin guys say that the Twin Blade is somewhere in between in terms of output. What I'm wondering is, can it shred like a Hot Rails in the neck? Or will it be more like a PAF type humbucker similar to the Cool Rails?

Single or humbucker for Strat bridge?
Man guys...I recently bought my first strat and like it but can't seem to decide if singles are for me in the bridge slot. I am so much more familiar with big crunchy humbucker tones so it is a shift for me.

BYOC Tremelo
have any of you guys built the Build Your Own Clone tremelo pedal? I am curious because I was wandering if there is a way to get more range out of the tremelo speed? from 0-5 there is no speed difference whatsoever and then at about 6.5 the speed starts to pick up? Any suggestions?
