I've got a bunch of parts for American Strats (from working on my own over the years). I've also got Squier Strat that I bought as a practice guitar. But it sounds really lifeless compared my real Strats. I recently upgraded one of my American Strats with DiMarzio MP401/402/403 pickups and it sounds great.

A good music editing program?
I am pretty much clueless when it comes to these, but what i want is a program that would allow me to edit the individual tracks,i.e bass, snare, etc, of a cda file. This is my own bands recordings. What i would want to do is re-eq somethings and maybe add some basic effects, reverb, delay maybe chorus. Hopefully something that isnt too expensive either.

The summer project part 2: I need suggestions
Well I heard that Charvel model 1as weren't routed properly for humbuckers because the height adjustment screw tabs don't have enough room. So it seems that I'll just take off the middle pickup and have 2 single coils spaces. The bridge pickup will be a SC size humbucker or a hotrails. It's a basswood body so I'm open to suggestions (DiMarzios also are suggestable )
Here is what it may look like with the two 'single' coils, in different configurations. The neck pickup is covered because I most likely will swap one of the stacked single coils (i.e humbuckers I guess. Jackson J200) from the model 4 into the 1a, and give a true single coil to the model 4.

Old Marshall
Thinking of getting a more powerful head to replace my crate blue voodoo. Any thoughts or ideas on the Marshall VS100? I will be getting the head version and running it through my homemade 4/12 cab with celestions.

single coil question
I have always dealt with humbuckers, which are specified as either neck or bridge. I bought 3 aps-1 pickups for my strat because I'm getting into single coils, but it occurred to me that they aren't marked for position...does it matter?
