My 1987 Charvel Model 2 came today!!!
Inlarged pic of SD Invader in the Charvel:

I also recently had a total overhaul done on my 1988 HM Strat. New pots, new switch, new jack, all 3 new duncans, action lowered, intonation set...

I'm Loving it!!! 10-52's on each guitar. Charvel in Drop D, Fender in Standard.
Amp: Peavey XXL 100 watt head, Mesa/Boogie 2X12quot; with Celestions

Rock On ~!~

Nice, good to see another Invader lover, part of me wants to try something new in my next guitar, but the invader is just 'my' tone, so i think one will end up in that too.

Charvel looks cool, ive always liked one humbucker/one vol guitars, so here's a hard question, which of these two is your 'number 1'?

Even though I'm not a quot;Floydquot; kinda guy, I love the color, and clean simplicity of the blue one. Beautiful axe. Plus it gives me a styling idea that I'll have to PM to you when I get a drawing done.

Artie

that charvel is screaming for a maple strat head neck man! just remeber it has a wider heel if i'm not mistaken and only one company makes them that will fit it (musikraft) either way damn cool guitar, i love one hum one knob guitars!

-Mike

Mike, I'm really loving it too!

Forbes... Since they're in different tunings it's pretty easy to decide when to use which guitar, but the Fender is my #1

Artie, I'll be waiting for that PM

Rock On ~!~

if anyone was wondering, this is the guitar i was waiting for from jb_from_hell, and i am very happy with it

Rock On!

Yeah, that Charvel totally needs a Strat headstock.

The pointy charvel headstock is one of my favorite things about it. But I do think I would like a maple fretboard rather than the rosewood. Maple fretboards seems to make the Invader sound more percussive and give it a little better attack. I'm gonna try a mod with a capacitor on the volume knob to see how it effects the sound before I go changing necks.

Rock On!

Cool stuff bro!!! KEEP ROCKIN!

Nice. That would be a fun guitar.

Sweet!!

That thing rocks.

Welcome to the Charvel model series elite! I have 2 and I'm planning on a 3rd (neck through) before the end of the year. Great guitars. How is it with the Invader? I put a FullShred in my model 4 and I believe it matches the basswood body VERY well. The brightness of the FullShred is tamed by the natural 'neutral/warm' tone characteristics of the basswood and the bass are very defined.

I agree about the shade of blue, it's a beautiful color...and it's a sharp looking guitar!

Reminds me of my Model 2, which had the headstock break off in 2000 ...
Cool guitars. It's time to shred.

My model 4 was the same color..Congrats...those were neat guitars!

Funny thing was, at the time they were viewed by many as quot;budgetquot; models or quot;inferiorquot; to the Model 4,5,6...cos it only had the one pup. People wanted more versatility and the single bucker guitars were starting to drop off in popularity for the Shredder axes of the late 80s like your Fender, or many Ibanezes.

I've been GASsing hard for just such an axe for a few months now..single humbucker quot;superstratquot; non routed floyd ala the Kramer Baretta/Focus 1000 or this model 2...

Shred in good health!

Little bit dark with the invader and the rosewood fretboard right now, but I'm gonna see if I can fix that, if not I'll change the pickup or get a new neck.

Rock On ~!~

Well, I said the Invader was too dark... Theodie gave me this advice:

Did it, and it worked! It brightened up the Invader enough to give it more clarity and it still has great fullness and insane punch.

I'm am soo in love with this guitar for my Drop D stuff now.

A BIG Thank You to Theodie and JB_From_Hell!

Rock On ~!~

Rock out with your Kac out bro!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!

Glad it worked well for ya bro!!!!!! I figured you would like that tip!!!

Yea Kac, dont listen to all these goobers that want the old rounded headstock look A maple fretboard would look cool, but i like the way it looks as it is, nice score.

Ha ha! Right on bro! I like the neck so much as it is that I have absolutly no plan of changing it anytime in the near future.

I do agree that maple would look better, and match the HM Strat too, but that's not that important.

Rock On ~!~
