I'm looking into getting a synth. Not an instrumental synth, but one that make odds bleeping noises and such. I'm hoping to spend around $500, and I was wondering if anyone here can help point me in the right direction. Thanks.
How bout free?
There are many virtual synths that run on PC and many are freeware- Most are VST plug ins for non-limear recording, but a few are standalone-
Look at places like
from : localhost/you want to pursue this direction- Cheap and powerful and I have used the higher end ones in the studio many times with good results-
BTW- If you really just want beeps, look for one called quot;SunRaquot; or a derivitive of that name- Doesn't even require keyboard input- Just makes wild sounds by itself-
Also, it may be a VSTI (expects to be run from inside of a recorder), but I think there are also VST wrapers that allow you to run VST syhtns as standalone-
cheers
line 6 makes a synth lead pedal
that makes weird beeping noises over what you play
