What tool/tools do you need to route a guitar body? My friend is letting me hack up his Squire. I've been using a chisel and mallet, but I was wondering if there was a power tool out there that's more suitable.

A router ould be best,you could probably rent one from the Home Depot.
The dremel is a luthier's right hand.
If you want to do it by hand,make sure that your chisels are razor sharp.Score each area with an exacto first,reduces chipping.
If you want to do this kind of stuff, I would highly recomend a plunge router and some laminate trim bits and a 1/4 inch straight bit.
