Am I in the right place for this? Anyway, I really dig the sounds on this synth.
from : localhost/problem is, I've got a great computer, Sonar for recording, Tascam interface, Yamaha W5 synth etc... but I don't know what software to get or even where to LOOK for stuff so I don't HAVE to buy another synth. Is there a good website, or anything I can use to learn about all this interfacing for recording? I assume there is software I can load into the computer and I can use my synth as the master and the computer as the slave, or sound module through midi. Is there anything I can get that will do all this stuff through the computer instead of buying a new keyboard to get those sounds???
Thanks for any help.
If your really looking at vintage stuff you may want to look at Reason. Reason has a lot of vintage analog gear emulation with it and its a software workstation which you would trigger from your current keyboard.
Sonar should support VST plugins right?
You load a VST instrument/effect into Sonar and play...You could also you a program like Steinberg V-Stack for playing the instruments quot;livequot; without the use of a sequencer program. VST's are available in thousands...both freeware and products that you paid round 100 for. With several VST keyboards and synthesizers you probably get all sounds you want/need.
That's at least an option
