So, had to do this for myself anyway and I thought I'd share my diagrams - Dimarzio amp; Duncan humbuckers, how to wire VTT or VVT, with a split switch so that you get humcanceling wen you select both pickups. Tried that tonight with the FRED PAF Pro, very nice.

Note that the FRED's hotter coil is the 'adjustable' and since i wanted

- the hotter bridge coil
- when split, the bridge PU using the coil furthest from the bridge

I have the 'alternate' config for the Dimarzios. Does not matter as far as looks as they have no logo and both coils are allens.

Yes I have a mini-diagram that shows you which coil is which, by looking at the bottom of the pickup.

Let me know if you find this useful. -- Dave Z

Hey, this stuff is very useful.

I'm trying to set up a 3 humbucker guitar with Seth in neck and bridge
with coil cutters oriented as in your diagrams.

I'm thinking of a Fred in the middle. The stronger coil would be for
the quack tone with the bridge and the weaker coil would be for the
quack tone with the neck. I think that the coil closest to the neck
should be paired with the middle coil closer to the bridge. The middle
coil closer to the neck would be paired with the bridge coil furthest
from the bridge.

I don't need a full wiring diagram, but hints as to which direction the
pickups would point, or which wires to use, or any other comments
would be appreciated.

Also, was there a meaningful difference in whether you used the
inner coils or the upper coils, particularly tapped in the middle
position?

thanks again for posting the pdf
