I recently picked up a Gibson SG Special, and I’m planning to mount a SD vintage rails in the neck position. I once saw a Gibson style mounting ring (ebay) that was shaped for a slanted single coil, though I can’t seem to find this product at the moment. Any ideas chaps?

So the Pearl White on the carvin is a lot more yellow than I expected, like an aged white. I'm not so sure I like it yet, not what I expected. But here are some more pictures so you can decide for yourself, and my old Pearl White Gamp;L for the sake of comparison, that pearl white was more of what I expecting.
Maybe it's just me, but I dig that aged white thing your Carvin has going on

What do you think? I'm thinking of a P-90 guitar; but I have a lot of animosity toward Gibson and how they operate. Gimme some ideas for a P-90 guitar that's not a Les Paul or a Gibson.

It's really hot and humid over here so I chose a relaxed backing track to do a quick impro to test some single coils I put in my Cherry Strat.

Is it just me or do people generally NOT adjust the screws on a P-90 to match the radius? Those damn little pup screws in between the poles get hung up when I try to raise them. (Relax - these are Gibson p-100's, not Duncans!) But because the poles are in the middel of that fat pup case, they can't get as close to the strings as I'd like by just raising the pup. Can't raise the pup, can't raise the poles without jamming up the pup screws - see the problem?

Hey. I'm not too much into this pickup stuff. But I've got a Yamaha Pacifica 120s, and instead of buying a new guitar, I think it would be nicer to insert a new pickup. But I don't know what to buy. The sound should be a bit like Epiphones Riviera (if you know the band called quot;Interpolquot;. If you need more information to help me, just ask. I hope you'll help me. Thanks.

What type of resistor, do you believe sound best in an boutique amp?

I purchased an SSL-2 (new) the other day on ebay. When inspecting the pickup, I noticed that the coil had slight damage. It appears that something has gouged the winding slightly (not consistent with shipping damage.)
The winding has been skewed slightly and there is some wax around the problem area. From close inspection the wires seem to be unbroken.

I was digging through some old photos and found these gems. This is my and my brother's quot;arsenalquot; back in the day. We grew up on the rainy north Oregon coast, where nobody knew about metal, and gear was scarce (as well as money).
