I looking at getting an overdrive/distortion style pedal. I looking for something that has a boost within the pedal and can be used both to boost an overdriven amp or to create distortion/overdrive over a clean amp.

What would you guys suggest for a good neck pickup to complement a Duncan Custom in the bridge? Music style is hard rock and mainstream metal. Also some Dream Theater-type stuff.

what's the difference between an OFR and a tremelo on like a strat? is the strat trem. not floating? does that mean on a start i'd be able to switch tunings without it going all out of whack?

What makes a pickup unique(the pickup itself, I don't mean like 'fast hands' or 'soul' or 'thick strings.') All I can think of right now is:

Since getting my old Hammond amp, I've been using it exclusively because it sounds a lot better than my SS amps. Could I benefit from replacing any or all of the tubes? Right now there is one 5U4, one 6BA6 (preamp) and 2 6V6's
The 5U4 is a GE, made in USA and is marked quot;5U4GA [over] 5U4GBquot; on the base

I bought a new Phat Cat set off Ebay to split-up as following and I'm having ALL sorts of problems with them...

Alright, so I've got an Epi Korina Fying V with a Duncan Invader in the bridge, and the stock neck pup. Now, most of the things I play (ranges from Van Halen, to the Allman Bros., to Zakk Wylde) can all be done with the Invader. But for the real part of my idea..

Yeah, today I opened up the box it was mailed in, and on the bottom I found glass, and then I knew what that meant...One of the EL34's were broken, and there was shattered glass in the box and inside the amp, do you think the guarantee will cover this? I'm pretty pissed, it must have happened under transport.
