Changing Active to Passive
I really want to buy an LTD Viper, but will probably change out the EMG's for passive pickups. If I replace them, will I have to install all new pots and wiring so that it's set up for passive?

How similar are the 5150/6505 and the Soldano SLO really?
Ive been told by the people on this forum before that the Peavey 5150 is a rip off of the Soldano SLO, just with an added quot;resonancequot; control. I have played both and yah, they both definently have a similar feel overall, tons of gain, sustain, and a compressed feel, with the Soldano obviously having more clarity and quot;tonequot; overall. But is it just me or is the 5150 more, i guess, more of a scooped-mid modern metal sound? Are they really THAT identical. I really can't see Warren Hayes using a 5150! Is it just because the 5150 uses lower quality parts? Or are they actually more different than people say they are?

Building amp footswitch, basic electronics info needed
Guys, Ive been thinking about building a footswitch for my Laney in place of the FS4, and Im somewhat in the dark about where to start. I have a schematic of the multi pin connector, but thats it. I dont know what kind of switches to buy, what kind of cable, or how to get one of these 5 pin DIN connectors.
From looking at this, is the middle pin positive and the others ground? I have been assuming the middle pin is and runs to all 4 switches in the footswitch, to an LED, and then back to one of the other pins. This is purely an assumption, so please tell me if i am wrong. Any info is very appreciative!
