The old Boss Spectrum pedals are like fixed wahs, right? I found out one of my favorite guitarists used one on one of my favorite recordings. They're not made anymore so they're quite expensive when you find them on Ebay etc. I'm wondering if a Dunlop Q Zone willl get me in that ballpark. I need some sort of filter that will give me a boosted honk for leads. I think Keeley Electronics makes something similar as well. I just don't want to buy a wah pedal and have to do it the old fashioned way, I'd prefer a set it and forget pedal.

Do newer amps have lower power levels? AMPS GURUS COME!!!
I have tried 7 or 8 JCM 800/JMP MV single channel heads and they all sounded like Marshalls, the JCM 800's being brighter and have more gain than the JMP's. But 2 of the later 80's JCM 800s sounded grainier and thinner, they didnt really punch like the earlier JCM 800's. Recently i was told that for the most part this is because Marshall in the later 80's started to use lower power filtering and removed a pair of the metal power quot;cansquot; from there amps. Does Marshall still do this with there amps? What about other cheaper, mass-produced amp makers like Peavey, Fender, Crate, or even Mesa? Do they still use this cut cutting method?

Gearjoneser's hybrid set is Chubtone's best seller!
Over half a year ago, I had a boutique pickup maker, Mike Gray of Chubtone Custom Pickups, make me a strat set to my specs, which would be the best SRV/KWS/Mayer type neck and middle pickups...6.2 A5's, and a 7.5 hot vintage bridge, that's designed to be similar to a Twangbanger, but it's A5.

Re-Finished my Strat: PICS!
I didn't like the crappy blue paint job on my MIJ Squire Strat, it looked like it had been done by drunken lemurs with a roller. So I painted it white. I used Krylon quot;Appliance Whitequot; aerosol with great results. Have a look!

Help with new guitar.....
I'll try to make this short. I'm a college student on a serious budget nd needed a new guitar (sold last one a couple months ago to pay for classes). Well I had about $500-600 or so to spend on a guitar. I liked my old Epi. LP so i got another one from GC. Just a black standard. I also bought a duncan distortion, and the following gibson replacement parts: black pickup switch ring, black switch knob, black speed knobs, and black pickup rings. as you can see, i hate the cream parts. (i also took off the pickguard.). I owuld not have purchased it if i knew that io had to leave the cream parts on. Well, NONE of the parts fit. I asked the guy if they owuld fit since they are gibson parts, not epi. and he said yeah. The knobs are too small, the swtich knob is too big, the rings are too small etc. So is there anywhere I can get black parts that fit epiphone, or should i just take the guiytar back and get a custom and be done with it? What sucks is they prob wont take the parts back because they're all open, or will they? The guy also knocked the price down a bit with a hardcase, so that shouldn't be a problem should it?

F/S Fender SSS Showmaster
Hey guys.....since i can't sell off my ric, here's my fender showmaster up for sale. Made in 2004. It's a maple setneck into a basswood body with a flamed swampash cap. It's still in near mint condition with no dings or whatever. Just buckle scratches in the back, nothing the penetrates the finish though. It comes loaded with lace hot gold pickups and the guitar plays and sound incredible. Here's a couple of vids of me playing the guitar recorded not too long ago...

The worksman D tuner... riiiight...
Ok I had seen many people say 'eh look, when you tune your Floyd, tighten the E string fine tuner all the way up (tight) this way when you want to drop the string, just down tune on the fine tuner all the way'
