I'll try to make this short. I'm a college student on a serious budget nd needed a new guitar (sold last one a couple months ago to pay for classes). Well I had about $500-600 or so to spend on a guitar. I liked my old Epi. LP so i got another one from GC. Just a black standard. I also bought a duncan distortion, and the following gibson replacement parts: black pickup switch ring, black switch knob, black speed knobs, and black pickup rings. as you can see, i hate the cream parts. (i also took off the pickguard.). I owuld not have purchased it if i knew that io had to leave the cream parts on. Well, NONE of the parts fit. I asked the guy if they owuld fit since they are gibson parts, not epi. and he said yeah. The knobs are too small, the swtich knob is too big, the rings are too small etc. So is there anywhere I can get black parts that fit epiphone, or should i just take the guiytar back and get a custom and be done with it? What sucks is they prob wont take the parts back because they're all open, or will they? The guy also knocked the price down a bit with a hardcase, so that shouldn't be a problem should it?

Oh, and also, the neck pickup is completely uneven. the front of it dips way into the body. Don't know what thats all about.

Looks like I'm going to have to drive another hour back to GC in a couple days.

You should be able to return everything as long as you have the receipt and all original packaging stuff. For the knobs you could try looking for them on ebay. For the neck pickup thing all you need to do is just put the foam thing to came with your pickup inside the cavity and that should level the pickup.

If you really like the guitar, I'd say keep it. I happen to like the black with the cream binding, pup rings, etc.

If you really want to make it all black, I'd replace the entire toggle switch with a new one with a black tip. That toggle switch will probably quit on you eventually and is a worth while investment. The Gibson knobs will fit... but they weren't made to... you'll have to gently force them on...

For the bridge, tail piece and pup rings, try allparts.com and see if they have metric parts that will fit your epi. I tried stew mac, and they have some metric parts that may fit, but none in black... I already know their pup rings won't fit your metric guitar without drilling new holes... I've tried this before...

Otherwise, get a custom. It'll be easier than swapping out all the parts. MF has some really nice all black Epi's on sale already loaded with EMG 81's and other variations...
