hey guys, there's one i like on ebay ending soon.. what are your experiences? are they a brand you'd trust buying sight unseen? (more than others)

its a LP junior shape, one humbucker.. very cool plainer gibson style..

That's a GS1, entry level Smithy. If it's got the 1 3/4 body instead of the 1 3/8 it'll be a decent bare bones no nonsense axe. Every GSG I've played has had a very playable neck (which is the no1 thing for me.)

Personally I don't like wraparound bridges so I wouldn't buy it myself... if you've never played a guitar with a wraparound before you'll notice the plain strings (in particular the B and E) just feel a little lower in tension than you'd expect. That's something I don't like, but hey a lot of people play PRS hardtails which are wraparounds so..

Some things to note

-It'll have a brass nut

-It'll have a coil tap (pull up on one of the knobs)

-It'll have a no load tone pot, and a treble bleed thingy on the volume.

Obviously you could change all that yourself but just things to be aware of..

as a no-nonsense gigging axe,it might be what im looking for.. not long left on it, £190 abouts so far..

and whats the difference in body thickness mean to the guitar?!

Just a slightly chunkier sound, but it'll feel a little more solid also. I just prefer the thicker body myself.

As far as I know most wraparound bridges are set for standard tuning with 9's or 10's on, but I'm not an expert on them.

You could probably find something ajustable to replace it with on or another site if you wanted...

Tonepros makes an adjustable wrap around tail piece I think. If not there's at least one or two companies that make some not so original looking stuff out there (don't remeber the names tough...
