Well, I am looking for some new pickups/ maybe only one new pickup for my BC Rich Mockingbird, and I've been looking at the screamin' demon. My main interest is old school hard rock and heavy metal, would this pup be a good candidate for these genres? (I guess you're gonna say quot;What do you think? it's from george friggin lynchquot;)

So I'm new to the tube amp world, I will be getting mine friday. I have always been a solid state guy, so I have a couple of questions about them. I have a good understading of electronics because that is what I'm in college for, but I just don't have any experience with vaccume tubes since they aren't used in hardly anything anymore. So here is my questions: 1.) I'm getting a JSX head, and it has to quot;biasquot; knobs on the rear panel that look like meter probe test areas. What are thease for and what do they do? I'm guessing that they have something to do with the switchable power amp, (6l6 or EL34) but I wasn't sure.
2.) THere is an effects loop on the rear pannel and it has knobs for effects send and effects return level. why is there two levels? I've only seen one effects level in the past, but I've only had solid state, middle of the road equiment. Thanx guys!

At the advice of Scott F and others,I ordered a set of the small bottle TAD 6L6s from MOJO to try out in my BF Fender Pro Reverb amp..Seems everyone is happy with em?

I really love the guitar sound on the first few Saint Vitus albums. It's really heavy and fat, but it's not very distorted or gritty. It has kind of a smooth sound.

So, my board is Guitargt;ABYgt;Boss Compressorgt;Fulltone FD2gt;Spina DS1I have a budget for some pedals, i play blues\jazz\fusion. Any pedals I should look at? what do you guys think???? Lets hear bout some cool gear

I have a Mesa Vtwin and think it´s too smooth. Isn´t sharp enought, without an eq is almost impossible to get a good sound.
One guy I´ve know that fixes tube amps said that he can tweak the pedal to get other shapes of sound. I think about changing tubes also. What do U think?
