does anyone know any single coil sized humbuckers that use alnico magnets that doesnt need batteries? because i have two humbuckers and i want something for the middle that can sound right with the 500k pot and sounds like a strat but not have a ceramic magnet in it????

I'm an old school creature of habit and I've never used Duncan Pickups, but I'm ready to take the plunge. For the last 20 years I've mainly used a competitor's Super Distortion and various pickups from gibson.

Anybody have a good drawing of a tele neck pocket? In particular, I need to know the radius of the corners, i.e. how small a router bit do I need to route the pocket?

I wonder what the ceramic magnet would change to this pickup ?
Bass : less , tighter ?

I have a custom fender cyclone. w/ a Floyd Rose pro tremelo. I replaced everything except for the body (which is a alder body) and the neck (which is a maple neck). I replaced the stock pickups with a seymour duncan single coil little 59er for the neck and a seymour duncan sh-8 invader for the bridge. My problem is I hate the sound of the little 59er it sounds really muddy. I love the sh-8's distorted sound but not a fan of the sh-8's clean sound. I would like to find a single coil pickup for the neck that has a great crisp clean sound that won't sound extremely weird while toggling back and forth. I know I'm in bit of a bind because the sh-8 is so hot but I really love the way it sounds. What I am trying to do is use a neck pickup for the clean and the sh-8 bridge for the dirty. Hey guys, I'm looking to replace the bridge pickups in my 2005 Ibanez SZ 520. It's string thru, mahogany body w/maple cap and a mahogany neck.

Has anybody played on of these? As a big EVH fan I would love to have one. But according to GP mag the standard production models are priced at ~$3200 list. That a might bit steep for what looks like an 800 dollar instrument. (And don't even think about getting one that Edward hand taped himself unless you've got dough coming out your ###...there is/was a section on e-bay where those models are going for at least 10 kilo bucks.)

Have you guys ever been messing around with your DL4 looper and start laying down different rythms and leads without stopping? I got about 10 good loops going before they all ran together and sounded bad. It was pretty fun for me to hear mutiple quot;tracksquot; going since I don't ever record any of my stuff . LOL
