Anybody have a good drawing of a tele neck pocket? In particular, I need to know the radius of the corners, i.e. how small a router bit do I need to route the pocket?
In accordance with popular opinion I (and at least one outright threat) -
which can be seen here - I want to put a maple Tele neck on a Schecter goldtop PT. *amp;^%$#@!!! Schecter put a curved-end quot;Stratquot; neck pocket on this guitar. So, I could spend huge $$$$ on a custom Warmoth neck with a curved quot;stratquot; end, or I can route the body for a standard square-end tele neck. As much as I don't want to cut the body, it does open up a world of neck options to me.

Before you try to route the body, did you call USA Custom Guitars and ask Tommy how much he would charge for a T-type neck with a strat-type pocket? IME he quot;upchargesquot; far less, and less frequently, than the friendly turtle dudes.
Also, IIRC you can put a Tele neck in a Strat pocket, but not vice versa. Havin' a senior moment on which is which, but you need to be very[I] careful about the distance between the bridge and the first fret! What I'm getting at is that you can remove wood to add to the size of the neck pocket, but the reverse is MUCH harder and likely to have lousy results.
All that said, I think you can find a template for a Tele neck pocket somewhere over on the Musical Instrument Maker's Forum.

I think it's the other way around... the centerline length is the same on both, but the strat heel is rounded back away from the body. So, to get a Tele neck to fit, you have to square up the pocket from the centerline out to the edge.
Here's a pic Xssive sent me to illustrate.I thought you could get a Tele or Strat end on any neck from Warmoth with no upcharge. No?
