from : localhost/saw one of these in a shop. For the money ($370 CAN) it is a damn fine instrument. Super fast unfinished neck, exceptional fretwork, and it played like a guitar worth three times as much. I didn't get a chance to plug it in, but man was I impressed. Some of the guitars coming out of China these days are frighteningly good.
Anyone have any experience with these Vendettas? What is the body wood? It looked like a three-piece, whatever it was. Are the pickups and electronics ok? Hardware ok? And will I look ridiculous playing Indie Rock on a 24 fret guitar?
Thanks!
EDIT: I did notice it had a plastic nut, but that's easily replacable.
ive heard that Dean's in general are awesome guitars but dont have that great of stock p'ups. Most people ive heard once they replace the pickups they dont want to play anything else
Looks good. I always loved the feel of Dean guitars. Ironically enough, the only Dean I have played was a lefty, but the neck felt really good.
...and yeah, change the pups, the dude whos Dean I played said the stock ones weren't too good.

I have a '79 RI Dean V that's great. I was skeptical at first but it really is a well-made, well-playing instrument. And I was all ready to load 'er up with some new Duncans but after playing with it awhile I realized that the stock pups were really pretty good. And this is the first stock HH guitar I've ever played where all 3 positions actually sound different and good. I haven't played the Vendetta's but the Dean name has been good to me so far.
If you're in the market for a Dean and can't find one locally, check out the Dean Dealer forum. Ask for a quote and you'll likely have several dealers get back to you within a couple days. That's how I found my V.
I like the Vendetta's. I am just waiting for the model to come out that is neck-through without the vine on the fretboard.
Nice gutiars, nice prices.

Yeah i think Dean is really good quality for the price
I got a heck of a lot of bang for the buck when I had a Chafin Del Sol (got it for $550). Dean definitely makes some good guitars so don't let the fact that a good majority of them are made in Korea get in the way.
