I got some offers to join blues bands with guys in their 40s and 50s after playing some licks in a guitar store. How can I prepare to audition for one of these bands, and are there some blues standards I should know? Pretty much all of my blues is of more of the classic rock style, which I understand is normally a lot more speedy than regular gritty blues, but it is definitely my style. I know blues is more about slow expression and really squeezing notes, but does the SRV approach work too?

hey, what would you reccomend? i played a dv8 the other day with emgs in it and it sounded awesome, so im thinkin about droppin a set into my sg. if i remember correctly the lettering on the neck was gold and the bridge was silver but idk.

Comes with APH-1(n) and CC (SH-11) in the bridge, both are black. I have original Gibson pups if you prefer those and will install them at no extra charge. For 15 years I've played '90 Jackson Fusion Pro w/factory pick ups and it sounds great. I'm not a collector and I don't have the budget to buy new equipment very often so I'm not very schooled in various hardware. I just purchased a brand new Ibanez RG2570EVSL with DiMarzio IBZ's and it sounds like a throaty fart cannon w/ no low end chunk or high end brightness. I play hard rock and melodic metal using arpeggio sweeps and low to high trick picking. My Jackson has great dynamics w/ chunky low ends and bright high ends. I'm at the edge of sending this guitar back but it plays great; I like the scale of the neck better than my Jackson and I've been told new pick ups would do the trick. I haven't got a clue what to buy or even where to start. Just reading thru the posts on this forum has enlightened me greatly. Any suggestions to help me on this would be so awesome and greatly appreciated.

Wanting to look at new pickups for my 70's northern ash strat. Either Fralin blues specials in neck and middle or fralin vintage hots and lil 59' or jb jr. in the bridge? Right now has vintage noisless in them. Guitar is pretty bright sounding. WIll split the lil 59 or jb jr in position #4 and full on in position #5. Guitar has demeter mid boost preamp...

I remember someone posting a link for adjusting the Crybabies to give them more sweet spot. Does anyone still have that link, I'd like to give it a try.

Brand spanking new EMG81, black

Folks i recently bought a Bogner 2x12 ubersized closed back cab, loaded with v30's.
On the label it said 16 ohm written with a marker and the seller told it was 16 ohms also. Reading some treads i get the feeling it isnt 16 ohm at all but 8 ohm . Hope someone can confirm either ohmage to me i cant find the info on the bogner site.
